Sheppard's British Isles 31st Edition

With the exception of Sheppard's British Isles, the publication of all other directories in printed form is suspended for the time being. No date has been fixed but we hope to publish these on paper and in a different format. Until then anyone wishing to search the database should register and use the 'Find a Dealer' service (see on www.sheppardsconfidential.com) . The cost of an annual subscription is £30 and payment can be made via PayPal.

Packed with useful trade information, the directory makes 558 pages, (30 more than the 30th Edition) and has an expanded book stock Speciality Index. This now makes over 240 pages - and provides an easy way to find an knowledgeable dealer on over 1,600 subjects. The cover price remains at £30 (US $60) and may be ordered via this site. Payment is now accepted by PayPal but we no longer accept telephone orders with credit cards.

Dealers who are, and have been, listed in Sheppard's Book Dealers in Australia and New Zealand; Europe; North America; Latin America and Southern Africa -- and Sheppard's International Directory of Ephemera Dealers and Print and Map Sellers are being sent messages to register their business details on this site. We are also inviting new entries.

This on-line registering service replaces the usual printed Entry Forms that have been sent out by post for previous editions. We will also be adding dealers who are not connected to the Internet so subscribers get the best of both worlds. The results of searches show the same details as the directories. As always, dealers can register their details free of charge.

Using the site
The site allows searches to be made for dealers either by location (country, state/county, city/town) or by the subject classification subject of the book required. Although dealers can register their details free of charge, a subscription is required for searching. At £30 for a year's unlimited use, it represents great value compared to the 6 printed directories the site embraces.

Search results show - full contact details, e-mail and web site addresses as links, opening hours, credit cards, membership of associations, VAT number, stock size, catalogues (if issued) and specific text matter dealers have added).

Subscribers are using the site to send specific `offers' or `searches' to selected dealers. The site automatically forwards these on. It is an alternative way to seek out titles that are not shown on search results from conventional Internet search engines.
